Second print of the AIAG & VDA FMEA ed.1 manual

The 2nd print of the AIAG & VDA FMEA manual was released in August 2022.

The reprint contains all the corrections made by the errata issued in the meantime. 

What changes have been made? 

A lot of the corrections were for minor issues, such as typos, mistakes, detailing.

However, we could also find some major changes in the errata, including:

• Removal of the alternative DFMEA table for Occurrence. We are talking about Table 1.3.2 – Alternative DFMEA Occurrence (O) (for Time Based Failure Prediction Values).
  Below is a view of an excerpt from the deleted table.
• Concerning descriptions in tables for risk assessment:

1. Table S – Severity PFMEA for ratings 8 and 10.
2. Table D – Detection of DFMEA for assessment 7.
3. Tables O – Occurrance DFMEA – note under the table.
4. Tables O – Occurrance DFMEA – note under the table

That’s why it’s worth paying attention to what edition of the textbook one has, as it may not contain up-to-date revisions.
