What’s next with the new FMEA

We have received many inquiries recently about when the new edition of the FMEA analysis handbook will be released, so we want to share the latest information with you.

In November 2017, a team of AIAG and VDA experts published a draft of a new manual. Since then (or actually even earlier, because we have reported bugs to AIAG in the current, fourth edition of the FMEA manual), we have been in constant contact with both AIAG and VDA, monitoring the publication date of the final version of the new manual. We all hoped it would happen in September 2018, when the AIAG conference took place. Unfortunately, work on the reported comments to the published draft is still ongoing, and the news we received in February 2019 says that the publication will be in the second quarter of 2019.
So it remains for us to wait patiently until spring. At the same time, we would like to remind you that all analyzes that are currently being carried out or will be started before the publication of the new handbook will still be valid (you will not have to do them “from scratch”).
