A few months ago, VDA released the 2nd updated edition of Special Characteristics – Special Characteristics (SC) 04/2020 – Process description covering Special Characteristics.

Changes in the new edition concern, i.a.:

  • Process description, which now includes: 4th edition of VDA 1 “Documented Information and Retention“, 1st edition of IATF: 2016-10 “Quality management system requirements for automotive production and relevant service parts organizations“ and AIAG & VDA FMEA ed.1.
  • Major characteristics, critical characteristics, which are replaced by the term special characteristics.
  • Linking and VDA Volumes.
