At the beginning of March 2024, long-awaited new publications went on sale on the official AIAG website: APQP – 3rd Edition and Control Plan – 1st Edition.

What changes do the new publications introduce in the context of control plans?

All the changes made are due to evolving automation and the emergence of new technology in updated standards.

  • expanded guidelines for control plans with new examples,
  • inclusion of Safe Lunch plans,
  • updated CP form with new columns and header,
  • additional form for special characteristics,
  • information on the use of control plan software,
  • references to RPFMEA,
  • a new checklist to check the accuracy of the prepared control plan.

A very important piece of information is that AIAG is giving 6 months to implement the new rules.
